Regan’s Pink Detox Smoothie
Gluten free. Dairy Free. Vegan
Beetroot in a smoothie? Yes, my friends! Beets, lemon juice and celery are great for helping to cleanse and detox the body, ginger helps digestion and the added fibre from the chia/flax will help to “keep things moving”….if ya know what I mean!
Serves 1
Ingredients
- 1 cup spinach/kale 
- 1 celery stalks, roughly chopped 
- 1 cup fresh or frozen berries 
- ½ apple 
- 1 small beet, ends trimmed and roughly chopped* 
- Juice from 1 lemon 
- 1 tsp fresh ginger 
- 1 tbsp ground flax or chia seeds 
- 1 cup water or coconut water (add more liquid if needed) 
- 1 Tbsp of Hemp Seeds (or 1 scoop of plant based Protein powder. I use Vega Natural Protein) 
Directions
- *Steam beet if necessary before starting. Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend on high until smooth.
